Year In Review, 2005

The year is coming to its end and it had it ups and downs throughout the year, but gladly to say it had more ups, than the downs. I am just going to list the major events that occurred in 2005, by starting from the start:

Jan. - Well the New Year started off very badly with me in having a horrible New Year’s Eve night with a “nutcase” and her friend and the next day I got really drunk with a very good friend, but due to some chemicals in my system, I don’t really remember much from that night, just the fact that I got really sick because of it and lost a very close friend.

Feb. – I went back to Labrador for a week to spend some time with the family because I didn’t get the chance to over the previous Christmas holidays. First time home without having my old dog Nikki there, but took back a lot of memorabilia to keep the memories close by.

Mar. – “6 Years Represent” came into affect when one of my closest friends at Acadia came to visit me during the St. Paddy’s Day week. Slimmy and I partied up George St. like it was the Axe all over again. We also met some girls at O’Reiley’s and now one of them named Lee-Ann is good friend of mine. Many people think we’re a lot alike, I just think we like to drink and have fun.

Apr. – I moved out of my old place on Hunts Pl. to where I am right now on Drake Cres. on my birthday. I do miss my old roommates where Holly and David are great people, but I can’t complain living with such a good friend in Tammy and an entertaining one named Angela.

May – I met an amazing girl at work name Tiffany and have been dating her ever since. My friend Stephanie told me I stopped being contrary ever since. It all started at a birthday party of Tiffany’s good friend Andrea (really good person in heart and great connection for clothing at Randy River) and a fun night downtown at O’Reiley’s. Then on the 15th, it came official at the Tea Party concert. My favorite line from that night from Tiffany would be, “I am wearing my boyfriend’s hat”.

Jun. – There were many late nights downtown getting to know Tiffany better and some nights at her old apartment, until she moved into her new place with her mother and two brothers. Also in June is when Tammy’s twin sister moved in with her husband and kid, which led to a full house, but lots of fun. On the 23rd, it was Tammy’s and Tara’s birthday and we went out for supper and pool later on.

Jul. – My younger brother Leon came for a visit. It was one week full of drinking and it was great having the younger, but richer brother in town. As a result, there were a few nights downtown and a lot of eating out where Leon doesn’t get that chance at home in Churchill Falls.

Aug. – Shannon Boland moved in where her and her old roommate were having lots of problems. Her friend Diana that was going on a trip to Europe stopped by as well and that led to a lot of good times as well. My friend Jay from Acadia came in for work and that weekend was George St. festival, so it was good timing on his part, that’s for sure. Then Tiffany and I visited Grand Bank (her old home) for Grand Bank Day and went to many sights around the “Boot”. We ended that month in having “Big BBQ 3” at our place and said good-byes to many great friends like Shannon, Katie, and of course Amy. Work has never been the same.

Sep. – My parents came to visit and it was great seeing them where I only see them usually once or twice a year now. They got to meet Tiffany for the first time and loved her like I thought they would. Tiffany started fast-track nursing at MUN and a week into that, we went on a camping trip to LaManche and had an amazing weekend. The end of the month, I got to see my two of my favorite bands and they are Our Lady Peace and PEARL JAM!!!!!

Oct. – I got to see an other one of my favorite bands and that was Collective Soul. By my side of course during all these concerts was Tiffany, which made them 100 times better. At the end of that month, I got to see two of my best friends from Acadia during AUGC (Atlantic University Geology Conference). Teri and Jill B. were in town and we made the best of the short time that they were here. Mardi Gras was also going on that weekend and the geology crew showed me what I missed most from Acadia and that was having a good time with rocks and drinks.

Nov. – The most important event I can think of for November is experiencing Tiffany’s and I 6 month-a-versary (half anniversary) and knowing how long we lasted at that point brings a huge smile to my face. What brings a bigger smile to my face knows it’s just going to get better with us.

Dec. – Well this month was a perfect ending to a great year for me. Most of it is mentioned in the previous blog, so I will keep this part short. Simply put, I had a great Christmas with Tiffany and then with my family at home in Churchill Falls.

So what is there to look forward to in the year of 2006? Well I can guaranteed that it will be a whole lot better than 2005 knowing I will bringing in the new year with good friends by my side and with an amazing girlfriend name Tiffany. Other than that, we’ll have to wait and see.

Happy New Years Everyone!!!!!

Corey
